Stitch Fix has maternity fashions now!!

Did you see?! Stitch Fix has a maternity option now! And how convenient, I do just happen to be pregnant, so I decided to try it out.
So here's the first top—it's got this great cut-out pattern in the front and I love the color. I kept this one. This is the only item actually listed as maternity. All the other items are non-maternity but accomodate a pregnant belly just fine. I'm totally okay with the fact that these aren't maternity specific items. I prefer to keep shopping the ladies section throughout my pregnancy anyway. The only thing I have to buy maternity is jeans. You really can't avoid maternity jeans when you're pregnant and why would you even try—they are so comfortable!

Next up is this waffle knit cardigan. The texture reminds me of those "magic" stretchy shirts that were all the rage back in the late 90's. The sleeves were a little tight and slightly short and I didn't like the sheerness of it. This one got sent back.

Third item is this cowl neck knit top. I absolutely hate everything about this. I feel HUGE in it. I don't think the fit is flattering at all. The neck also seems a little awkward on this one, it's not a big enough cowl for me I guess. Definitely didn't keep it.

I really liked this v-neck dolman, but decided to send it back too. I loved the fit and it was comfortable, but the weather will be warming up soon so I won't be getting much use out of it. It's also kind of boring for the price.

My last item was this striped scarf. It was perfect with the dolman top, but I didn't like it enough to keep it.

So overall, it was a really fun experience and worth it even if I only kept one item. Who doesn't love getting packages in the mail?! I was impressed that every item fit, but the box felt kinda blah for me which I expressed in the feedback. I'm going to give it one more try this pregnancy and can't wait to see what comes next. And I'll probably try it again once the baby is here and I can't get out to shop for myself as easily as before. I've requested tops and dresses again and am hoping to see some more texture and patterns. If you haven't tried Stitch Fix yet, you totally should! If you've never heard of it, keep reading and I'll do my best to explain it.

What is Stitch Fix?

It's a personal styling service that sends five items of clothing or accessories to you in each "fix." These items are picked for you personally by a stylist who reviews a style profile you complete when you sign up. You can also share your Pinterest style board if you have one and there's a place to leave a note for your stylist where you can request specific types of items if you have a special event coming up. These items ship directly to you when you schedule a "fix." There's a little more of a waiting period to get your fix then when I first tried this service about a year ago. You can schedule your Stitch Fix boxes to arrive as often as you like--they can automatically ship each month, or you can choose to have them ship just when you feel like it. You pay a $20 styling fee up front, but this serves as a credit toward anything you want to purchase in your Stitch Fix shipment. If you love it all, you can keep all five items and receive a 25% discount on the total purchase of those items. Another awesome feature about this service is that you get to try the clothes on at home, so you can try on with items already in your closet! You have three days to decide what to keep and you return the rest in a pre-paid USPS mailing bag. The more Stitch Fixes you receive, the better your stylist will get at figuring out your personal style. So what are you waiting for? Go sign up and get your first Stitch Fix!

Disclosure: the Stitch Fix link in this post is my personal referral code. If you sign up using my link I get a referral credit. The biggest THANK YOU to anyone signing up with my link. You are awesome!

Tombow and My Mind's Eye | Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of the Tombow & My Mind's Eye blog hop!

I'm already a really big fan of Tombow. I usually use their MONO permanent adhesive tape runner (the blue one) on every layout and card I make. I buy the refills in bulk at my local chain craft store. I was excited to open my box and see some new adhesives I have never tried. I've been using the adhesives all month, but saved these two projects just for this hop.

On this layout I decided to grab a material or two that might be a little challenging to adhere—tissue paper and an extremely thin cut title. I adhered the tissue paper with small strips of the XTREME adhesive tape runner, but it being tissue paper, the removable one most likely would have sufficed. I like that the adhesive tape is clear, you don't even know it's under the tissue paper.
For the title I used the MONO multi liquid glue. What I love about this one is the two different tips offered. One end gives you a thin line of adhesive and the other end, a thick one. Also, I NEVER had to stick a needle in the tip to unclog it! This fact alone could make me switch from my usual liquid adhesive that I'm constantly unclogging with a needle. I also noticed (by accident) that it dries tacky, so there's no rush to put the glue on, flip it over, and press it down. You have plenty of working time with the glue.

For the card I really gave the XTREME adhesive a test. Does it work on fabric or canvas? Why yes it does! ...really well actually. That piece of canvas isn't going anywhere without taking some of that pretty patterned paper with it. The XTREME adhesive tape runner means serious business. I used the MONO liquid again for my title.

My Mind's Eye & Scrapbook Generation

My Mind's Eye is the featured manufacturer in this month's issue of Scrapbook Generation's Create magazine. The whole team was given a couple sketches to create with. You can view the whole February issue here (it's free). I'm looking forward to nap time today when I can spend some quiet time "flipping" through the pages.

Here's a sneak peek of my projects:
