Little Black Dress April Kit

I've got five layouts for you this month with the Little Black Dress April kit.

First off, I got out a Crafter's Workshop 6x6 template that I've been wanting to play with for months. I centered it and masked off the remaining cardstock. I took three different mist colors in analogous shades and sprayed at random on top of the template. Added the bright orange trim from the kit and sewed a square around the misted shape. I'm still LOVING that Studio Calico alpha, so it showed up again this month on a couple layouts.

Little Black Dress April kit-  patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye | small alpha stickers: October Afternoon | plastic bingo piece & orange trim  [non-kit items: cardstock: American Crafts | alpha stamps: Studio Calico | ink: Stampin’ Up | template: The Crafter’s Workshop | mist: Studio Calico & Maya Road | embroidery floss, vintage typewriter, sewing machine & thread]

Here I used the template again, but with a different technique. I misted the template, then turned it over and placed it on the page (& repeated those steps a couple more times)—giving it a grungier look. The colors matched that transparency perfectly. I printed a couple playground photos from last summer and everything else just fell into place.

I took the package of numbers from Glitz Designs in the kit and adhered them to a sheet of kraft cardstock then put a thin layer of white paint messily on the page. Once dry, I took some steel wool to some of the painted areas where I thought it was too heavy.

Little Black Dress April kit -  patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye, Crate Paper | small alpha stickers: October Afternoon | reserved sticker & number cards: Glitz Design | button, charm, & ribbon [non-kit items: kraft cardstock: American Crafts | Silhouette SD | title font: Quigley Wiggly | paint: Plaid | shipping tags, twine, vintage typewriter, sewing machine & thread | Basic Grey lace paper used as a mask with Copic markers & Copic airbrush system]

Got out the white paint again for this layout. Messily applied it under the flower transparency. Added some gold embossing powder too, and heated it from the underside of the paper (no Versamark or adhesive necessary when sprinkling some powder down and heating from the underside). When using embossing powder, make sure to apply transparencies and photos after you've applied heat, or you may melt your photos or transparencies.

Little Black Dress April kit -  patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye | reserved sticker & floral transparency: Glitz Design | metal charm & butterfly cabochon [non-kit items: paint: Plaid | alpha stamps: Studio Calico | ink: Stampin’ Up | embossing powder, vintage typewriter, sewing machine & thread]

Lots of circles, stamping, & more messing white paint.
